Interview: Thulisile Madonsela
APJ Interview Editor Priyanka Naidoo sat down with Thulisile (Thuli) Nomkhosi Madonsela during her visit to Harvard Law School this year. One of 11 Technical Experts that assisted the Constitutional Assembly in drafting South Africa’s new Constitution, Madonsela is a human rights lawyer, equality expert, constitutional analyst and policy specialist, who holds BA Law and LLB degrees. Thuli served as South Africa’s Public Protector between 2009 and 2016, was a Harvard ALI (Advanced Leadership Initiative) Fellow, and a Forbes Africa Person of the Year. Her literary work includes co-authoring the Bench Book for Equality Courts, a Resource Book for Equality Court Clerks, a Legal advice Handbook on Family Law and Related Matters and handbooks on Gender Management, gender mainstreaming and Leadership.
